In my opinion, these contests are feeding on the proud reputation of the 
mechanical machines....and should not be referred to as RTTY contests at all 
!  Maybe calling them "appliance typers" contests.

RTTY is about electro-mechanical machines which require extreme skill to 
maintain and operate.  RTTY has nothing to do with computers.  Do they call 
computers radios or tv's when used as such?  Nope.

Let's keep RTTY a pure concept and stop corrupting the concept of the 
skilled and talented hobby of teletype MACHINES via radio by calling others 
RTTY ! ! !   So there :>)  Others are feeding off of the good name of RTTY's 
past and present. Hmmm, how about  RTTY Wannabees?

A more appropriate name contest could start here ! ! ! !
