I missed whatever the beginning of this thread had to say.  But MFP dates 
have nothing particularly to do with when anything WW-II vintage was built.  
Fully 2/3 of everything built during WW-II that survived the War either in 
service or in warehouses didn't get MFP treated until 1951 or later.  I've 
opened (in the past five years) NOSB LS-3 Loudspeakers made late 1940 through 
early 1942 but for whatever reason never issued that have 1951 or 1952 MFP 
dates.  A lot of obsolescent equipment was flushed out of stateside 
warehouses, MFP treated, and shipped to NATO warehouses in France and Belgium in 1951 
and 1952.  During WW-II, until early 1945 only gear headed for the Pacific 
got the treatment.
