No. It's because there's no demand. Sad to say that nobody wants them. 
It's now also become true of the Model 444 which is a much nicer 
machine. A few nuclear bunker museums have a use for them.

Most of the Post Office Model 7s were scrapped in the 70s when the 444 
came into use. UK amateurs acquired a number from the metal recycyling 
firms that bought the Post Office scrap. That's where I got mine if I 
recall.

I think that the military had already upgraded by then to Siemens T100 
etc. The news wirelines used the Model 75RO which was much more compact.

If you watch the film Brazil, directed by Terry Gilliam, you'll see a 
whole roomful of model 7s. I wonder what happened to them after the 
filming was finished?
