Well now, if you are going to wish for an older machine... Find a
Model 10!
About the only machines rarer are the House and Hughes machines...
they are in the Smithsonian.

The 12 is a multi-magnet arrangement with two motors and lots of wiring.
Doug told me it sounds like a small chorus of sewing machines only
louder.

When I went to school on the Type 4 Dataspeed there was a small typing
unit museum display at the Corn Products Building in Chicago on Wells
St.
The M10, M12, M15 and first M28 were in a roll around case.
I sure wish I had taken a photograph of that case!

It's surprising to me that one doesn't turn up occasionally.
There are lot's of M15 sitting in basements, you'd think there be an
occasional M12.
I was surprised that the eBay M12 only brought around $400 if I
remember right.
I thought it would bring several thousand. I should have bid on it.
(Not that I need another machine to not work on! :)
