The TT-4A is probably a very early model. Recall that
the "A" models came out in 1949. Later models were
"C" models for the most part, and these became
"Standard A" issue models throughout the Army, as
the earlier models were either phased out, or upgraded
to C models.
The Marine Corps had a few TT-4s, but likely, they
were the same models that the Army used, and were OD
green in color.
There were some variants of the TT-4s throughout their
life cycles for specific test and lab functions, but most
of those, while still esssentially TT-4s, had been
renomenclatured in to a TT-3 digit model number, TT-219,
etc.
