Welcome to GREENKEYS.

Kleinschmidt machines are just fine for those who know and understand
them. They are very reliable which is good as parts are very hard to
find.
The Model 28 ROTR (Receive Only Typing Reperforator) is a bit more
mainstream. Manuals are available for the ROTR and some parts.
One of the first things you should do is to try to clean and remove as
much of the rust as possible. It you want to have them print you will
most likely need to make sure both machines are geared for 60 wpm.

There are a few gentlemen on this list that are familiar with
Kleinschmidt machines. They will most likely write to you.
Check out George Hutchison's site for information on the ROTR... http://www.rtty.com/
Also check out Nick England's site for information... http://www.navy-radio.com/rtty.htm

I will look around here to see if I have a scanned manual for your ROTR.

Be patient with your machines. Make sure everything moves well before
applying any power.
The sound of stripping gears and smell of burning wiring is not
pleasant.

Best hopes and wishes to you.

Hello.
My name is jonathan and I am new to greenkeys and teletype world. I
purchased a Kleinschmidt an-98c/fg off of craigslist and would like to
restore them. I know just about squat about teletypes.

Questions: Are these common or rare models? Does anyone have a pdf,
txt, pics of manuals for them? What in the blazes does a reperforator
do (in plain english)? Will i be able to get these hooked up to my
computer/radio?

Ive included a youtube of the sets if you care to laugh

Lastly, I am sure this will be the first of many email questions, so
