Bill and Don,

The rubber hammers used to develop an impression after some use. I have not seen the tubing do it yet, but I usually send them out and dont run my 32 much. The divot would be normal as consistent with the rubber hammers getting the depression. I think the tubing is actually a better wearer than the rubber hammers. I assume the new ones Don is working on will be made of vinyl, not rubber.

Hey all....I noticed that the PVC tube I used to replace the rubber
rint hammer head of my Teletype ASR 33 about this time last year
eveloped a divot where it makes contact with the print cylinder. Not
ure if this ever came up before for anyone else. I use my 33 pretty
ften (PDP 11/05 and SWTPc 6800 work).
As a matter of practice I will be replacing the print hammer pad each
ime I replace a ribbon. Perhaps I use my teletypes too much ;-)
