Roy,

The radio set in the film is AN/GRC-46. Late in the film, one brief
section shows AN/VRC-29, which is basically the same set without the shelter. The
radio set utilized is AN/GRC-19, which operates AM, CW and FSK. It does
not do either SSB or ISB. The statement in the film about simultaneous Voice
and FSK output shows the transmitter being simultaneously amplitude
modulated and frequency shift keyed. They don't show the two traffic streams being
received. It would work with an IF type receiving converter but not with an
audio one. Or at least not very well. Imagine trying to receive an AM (or
for that matter an SSB) voice transmission while the same transmitter or a
different one was transmitting FSK on the same channel. :-)
