I just ordered PC boards for an RS232-to-high voltage loop converter

circuit. This is a two-way circuit, so it not only receives from the

RS232, it can send to it. The circuit uses opto-isolators and

a MAX232 chip which generates the plus/minus RS232 voltages.

The loop interface is designed for a high voltage (<150 VDC)

20 to 60 ma. loop. The board will need 5VDC for operation.

I have enough parts to build the boards and offer them

fully-tested. If anyone is interested, let me know. I ordered 8
boards.

A naked board can be had for $21.00, shipped.

A wired and tested board will cost $30, shipped.

This covers the cost of the board, the parts, and flat rate USPS mail.

Again, you will have to provide 5VDC for the board.

Based upon parts costs, you could build in the 5VDC and HV Loop supply

for another $25. A suitable box could cost another $20, or more.

I've been getting my parts from Mouser, Electronix Express and Ebay.

With a "junk box" that has been growing for over 50 years, I don't

have any problem with hardware, wire, etc.

The circuit is an amalgamation of a W7TTY circuit, Gil's TTYCONNECT,

and some other circuits I have found. Nothing original....but it
works!

73 ES HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL GREENKEYERS!!!
