[GreenKeys] Teletype magnet on eBay, but what is it for?

The M-198 magnet is listed in the parts list for Model 14 TD, Bulletin 
1041, Issue 3, December 1940, on Page 3, it appears to be part of the 
"Universal Release Magnet" assembly ("110 V. A.C. or D.C.").  The 
resistance is not given in the parts list, nor elsewhere in the document 
as near as I can tell.
