First - There are eight rolls of tape per carton. My mistake, but
when handling teletype stuff it is easy to go blind.
I am working on how to calculate shipping for this stuff, but so far
Office Despot does not have a sensible scheme for estimating UPS,
but I will contact FedEx and see the UPS store tomorrow.
Being a cheapskate I always try to get the best deal I can, and
recently FedEx office (formerly Kinko's) has been the most
reasonable of all of the walk-in services.
I would like to have complete shipping addresses, including
telephone numbers for the following people:
1: Mark, K1HF
2: David MacMillan
3: Steve Garrison, N4TTY
4: Howard Weeks, K5JCP
5: Ron Boltz
The total number of cases came to seven and a quarter. This amounts
to 232 rolls. I tossed in the little bit I had stashed for a total
of 237 rolls. I have been assured I can get rid of all of the tape,
but I want to be sure that everyone has a fair chance.
There are 8 boxes of AP fanfold paper in the Bellingham find. I
haven't mentioned them because I was a bit uncertain as to how
brittle it is, but I think that it would work ok if the paper path
was clear.
There are 6 cases, 12 rolls per case, of 4-ply multi-colored paper
that I was going to keep for use in public demonstrations such as
classrom visits, trade shows, etc., but if someone wants any, don't
hesitate to call.
And please don't forget the availability of the 11/16" teletype
tape. $1.50/roll, ten rolls per carton, 40 per case, 8 cases
available.
As of this time there are 117 rolls unasked for. My garage is
stuffed with Kleinschmidt Stuff, and due to the flood of tears that
poured out of this computer, it DID NOT go to the recycler. I DO
want it GONE ASAP, as there is one van load left in Bellingham, and
Bill B.will skin me alive if I don't get what's left of the first
trip out of his trailer.
Glenn Galati in Tacoma has said that he would manage the packing and
shipping of the Kleinschmidt/Western Union stuff were it going to
one location. It would be in a Gaylord on a pallet, with adequate
dunnage to keep the contents from rattling around. I'll haul it to
Tacoma for a flat fee of 30 dollars. That includes the bridge toll
($5.00) and the cost of gas.
Glenn can be reached at 253-272-1061 should you have any questions.
For west coast people, the trailer I use is almost available (it has
had firewood in it for a few months, and it is pretty well empty) so
I would consider one last Junque Run to the California area or
perhaps easterly into Salt Lake after the first of the year.
I am getting old (physically, mentally I'm still 17 or 18) and its
time to start thinning out the "Stuff".
More on this later.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all from the politically
incorrect -
