I think the HP 6207B 160V DC supply has been discussed on here a few
times as a convenient loop supply.
I recently acquired one for both loop and bench supply purposes and it
seems to work... mostly...
But it does a funny dance at power up which I am not sure is normal
operation...
When I power it up, the voltage comes up in three steps. It goes to
about 30v and pauses, then to 100v, pauses again and finally gets to 120
or 130v in the last step. The steps are very brief... 10's of ms...
not seconds.
Are there any other 6207B users on the list that can confirm or deny
similar behavior?
I've been through the unit, checking many of the voltage readings in the
manual and everything checks out OK. It regulates just fine and otherwise
seems to work. I'm just "bothered" by this power on step function ;-)
