I had one of those as a kid. There are two buttons, "INDEX"
and "PRINT". The INDEX button advances the print wheel at both
ends, and the PRINT button prints the letter at the current
wheel position on the tape. There's a 4-wire connection between
the two units. No unison mechanism, so they tend to get out
of sync.
I tried to interface one to a Geniac, but it didn't work
out.
