$20-30?? Oh heck, for closer to FIVE dollars you can go to Harbor Freight
and get one of their multi-magnification headband units.
... http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=magnifier
There are lots of options there, for next to nothing.

Personally, I use THIS one a LOT - the #38896:
... http://www.harborfreight.com/magnifier-head-strap-with-lights-38896.html
(I keep a few of them scattered around, and in my portable tool kits... :-)

It uses Velcro on the plastic strap pair, as a headband size adjustment.
It easily swings up and down, and fits over normal glasses, so no
additional corrections are required if you do wear glasses.
In use, it gives you stereo view on two different magnifications.
By swinging the loupe over, you get two more mags over that one eye.
In combination, the magnifications are: 1.8x, 2.3x, 3.7x, and 4.8x

BTW... You can easily move the loupe to either eye, with a screwdriver.

Each side has a light, that uses a pair of AAAs. If you're an electrical type,
you can easily SERIOUSLY "upgrade" the lights to LEDs by hacking in some
white LEDs scavenged from their "free 9-LED flashlights" coupon deal,
and a bit of Dremel, superglue, hot melt glue, and/or ty-wrap work... <grin>
(Heck, just strap a pair of the "freebie LED flashlights" to them, for a BIG light. :-)

Normally only $6.99, this one often goes on sale. Whether on or off sale though,
you can also use the ubiquitous "20% off one item" coupons to drop it even more!
(Note: You can't combine -20% coupons with another COUPON or Parking Lot sale.)

Even at full price, picking up one with the -20% coupon makes them only $5.60 each.

You can get images of the 20-off and free flashlight coupons off of the net
(Google "harbor freight coupon").

Lessee... I currently have good online scans of:
- 20% off one item (good for reg price, OR "normal" sales)
- FREE 9-LED flashlight ((65020/69052/69111 - includes batteries!)
- FREE tape measure (47737/69080), and
- FREE 6pc screwdriver set (47770)
All are good until mid-May or early-June.
I have to scan in the "Free Scissors" yet, and my Free Gloves coupon expired. (Darn. ;-)

So... If you all can't find current coupons online, let me know where I can
PUT them, and I can upload a few images of them to somewhere.
(PLEASE no "email me one" messages! I still have over 10K separate
emails yet to wade through in my inbox! I'll upload, but not email separately.)

Note - You can only use one FREE <something> coupon once per person per day,
but you CAN use BOTH the 20% off one item, AND a Free <something> coupon
in the same trip.
