Some very influential people have convinced me to restart ITTY.

ITTY is now up and running. Autostart and national will soon follow
suit.

ITTY is not as glorious as many RTTY or other data/RTTY management
programs, but it runs and runs well.

We are very fortunate to have Bill Bytheway as the software
mastermind for the system.

Many do not know this, but the original system we use was started
back in 1998 when the experimental RTTY broadcasts were being run.
It is older software that has been improved and modified to perform
the ITTY tasks.

Bill was the first to figure out how to get the RS-232 ports in XP
to run at low speeds with the different data and stop bits and baud
rates used in teletype transmission.

It really takes a crew to run it. For that be ever thankful to Wayne
LeTourneau, Tom Tillson, and Don House who are pretty damned good
news ferrets and have put literally thousands of hours over the past
eight years or so to bring everyone interested material for their
machines to print.

For those who might be interested in joining I urge you to stay
interested, but wait a few weeks as we are in the process of making
things simpler for those interested but are bewildered by the
apparent complexities of the current system.

Bill is taking a break to try and reunite a group of people who have
drifted apart.

Steve Jones, W0TTY, is going to assist in making the various system
address translations into what will become an easier system for the
software intimidated to comprehend and utilize.

When he is back from his sojurn to California, Bill, Steve, and I
will meet at some manner of gin mill or bawdy house to synchronize
the implimentation of the improvements.

Stay tuned, but there will be no film from the bawdy house, just
some easier to comprehend and use software.

Enjoy,

George - W7TTY - ITTY Central
