[GreenKeys] Tape Reader Problem Teletype Model 28 ASR

Hello all. I am in the process of restoring my Teletype Model 28 ASR. The tape reader does work but only if I engage it manually with a screw driver. The small sensor pin is making contact but the tape reader is not working even with tape in the gate. It appears that whatever makes the tape reader engage when put in the run position is not getting voltage to it. Again, the tape reader does work if I engage it manually only. The sensor pin is making contact when tape is in the gate and the gate is closed. When put in the run position nothing happens. Any ideas friends?

I have the typing unit out lubricating it at this time so the character counter is easy to get to at this time. Anybody have any ideas on how to pull it back up in to the window opening?
