It's interesting that the Wiki list of English pangrams:

shows (they got the letter count wrong 35):
The quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog (33 letters, 41 characters).
Note: All the shorter pangrams are not much like ordinary English.

But they have a separate web page for:
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog ( 35 letters, 43 characters)

Note the page URL is "a lazy dog" not "the lazy dog".
Note "jumps" is 5 letters and "jumped" is 6 letters.
