[GreenKeys] Bit rate question

On military tactical teletype circuits, there was always some
varience in motor speeds and other distortion that made it more
difficult to keep the machines on a TTY loop in sync. The longer
stop bit provided provided more time for all the machines to "get
ready" for the next start bit.
