Bill,
There is a problem with these older power supplies. They use either
copper oxide or Selinium rectifiers which cannot be trusted after so
many years. They break down and leak gas. I have a couple of upgrade
kits made by Sylvania to replace the old rectifier elements with big
diodes mounted on large heat sinks. These were originally supplied to
the military for this purpose.
Today the biggest problem with these power supplies is the cost of
shipping them. I find that normally FedEx Ground is the least
expensive.
The REC 10 is the model number of the power supply and is not to be
confused with the Model 10 Teletype machine.
Are you anywhere near Pittsburgh, PA ? There are a couple of people
there that might be interested.

I have a REC 10 power supply that's doing me no good. anyone want
it? It's heavy 20lbs-ish. I did not test, but I was told it worked
when I bought it a few years ago. Since then it has been stored in a
temp-controlled environment. I tried selling it,b ut there were no
takers.
