[GreenKeys] Radio equipment on Washington Island

The way that I look at things like this is that I am always happy that a collector of (fill in the blank) that appreciates whatever it is that he/she is collecting can do so. I even feel this way when someone outbids me on something that I want. I prefer to see that a collector other than myself gets that TTY or rare phone or even that moss green non-modular rotary dial call director that I have been lusting after for years rather than letting it go to the dump. I also try to never buy all of something that might be on sale somewhere so that other collectors might have a chance to obtain some as well... a perfect example is a situation several months ago with switchboard lamp caps. There was a large quantity available, and though I could have bought the whole boatload, I only purchased a portion of them, as there were others that I knew of that were looking for the same thing. I find it more fun knowing that there are maybe ten
complete switchboards out in the universe rather than just my switchboard and a barrel full of spare lamp caps.

I am in no way criticizing this collector of amateur radio gear. That is a fabulous collection, and I am in awe of it. Hope to see it someday too! More power to him.

This is just my philosophy, probably worth what I charge for it; only for me, as I never try to convert anyone to my way of thought.

Best,

Joe

Yup!   I agree with you Mike.   But we should always remind ourselves that
sour grapes has always been and continues to be the largest crop!  I haven't
really been paying attention but perhaps there is a movement to "Share the
radio equipment."
