Larry,

I used that exact setup in high school to dial into our school
district's HP 2000 timesharing system.

I suppose if you had two ASR33's with AJ couplers, and two land lines,
you could set one TTY to answer and the other to originate, dial one
number from the other, place the receivers into the couplers, and then
type messages back and forth.

At least, that's how we did it when we were goofing around in 1976.

You could also dial into a PC modem set to auto-answer & 110 baud, and
type between the PC and the TTY.
