GOT THIS QUESTION TODAY, I HAVEN'T MESSED WITH THIS PART SO DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK RIGHT NOW...
 I rotated the rotary drum that holds the carriage return spring (to be sure it wasn't frozen), and it went "Sproing!" and released all the tension.  The end of the belt came off the print carriage also.

I have no idea how to wind the spring up again, and how to get the right tension on it.  Do you now to fix it, or do you know somebody who can help me?
