Pete,

The model 40 is a huge departure from anything previously made by
Teletype.  The manuals are huge.  The biggest problem is the poor
material use for the type carrier.  NOS carriers just fall apart in  
their
containers.  I have several NOS Model 40 printers but none of them
can print because of this problem.

I also have a Model 45 printer here, but the mechanical design looks
the same, only the cabinet and electronics seem to be different.
I need to see if it will print, but I doubt it.  If new carriers become
available I will be one of the first to want to buy several of both the
80 column and 132 column type carriers.

hope the plastic parts haven't all cracked

are the manuals on the web ? Someone seen a cabinet ? is it worth the  
time ?
