I've had a few queries as to what this is. Here is the not too short
explanation of what is available:
It's about (from memory) 1-1/2" x 8" x 0.05" aluminum.
I drew up the center lines for the original mounting screws
for the MS connectors and the clearance holes in the back
of the ST-8000A and the new center lines to put different
connectors of your choice in place of the original MS style
connectors.
The drawing was done with AutoCAD and printed full scale
on a laser printer.
After drawing it up, I went to a local sheet metal shop and
had about 100 of the aluminum plates cut on a brake.
There are NO holes drilled in the blank aluminum plates.
As an example, the plate on the back of mine, I put a 9-pin
D female connector for the RS-232 line, and a pair of RCA
phono jacks for the TX and RX audio.
Others have mounted a 1/4" stereo jack with tip and ring for
the loop and sleeve for the equipment ground with a HV loop
converter mounted inside the HAL ST-8000A.
You can actually re-use the insulation displacement connectors
that currently terminate the wires from the MS style connectors
to the mating connectors on the edge of the HAL mother board
to connect to the new connectors.
I have additional documentation with the wire colors, signal
names and MS pin numbers VS edge connectors on the mother
board.
For a slight additional charge, I can pre-drill the holes that you
want, in addition to the original MS connector mounting holes,
and punch the proper cut-put for a 9-pin D series connector.
Hope this clears things up a bit.
