I can't remember if the line discipline does that anymore either.
I kinda think it doesn't.   So, my little micro takes care of that too.

My configuration has most things sitting on terminal servers now anyway
so a direct serial connection is typically not in the picture.  I have a
lot of Lantronix terminal servers and although they can do 2 stop bits,
they can't do 110 baud :-)  So, the micro fixes all that up, provides
some buffering and flow control and we're off to the races, so to speak--
the ASR33 is not winning too many races.
