GM OM's

If there is anyone that is interested in the machine (really) one
idea might be to contact the seller and talk to him.

The following suggestions might have some effect:

o Ask him if he's checked craig's list or eBay for other Teletype
listings to get an idea as to what it is worth.

o Let him know that there is a difference between a listing of a
   33-ASR (8-level) and a 28-ASR (5-level) in that there are collectors
that want the 8-level machines because they want to connect them
up to early computers for nostalgic reasons. The 5-level are
fairly useless except for amateur radio purposes - and not many
people are interested in them when they can use a $50 laptop
   that is lying around.

o Remind him that shipping it is usually cost-prohibitive and if
not crated by professionals, it will probably arrive in pieces,
which will make the buyer furious. Suggest he contact a local
moving company and ask what it will cost to box & ship it.

o Suggest that he re-list it at a price that is his bottom line and
see if he gets any bites. Then, if [when :-) ] he gets no offers,
   list it at "best offer".

o Don't insult him - but maybe let him know that since it will most
likely need to be "picked up" by the buyer, Syracuse is not exactly
New York City (or Chicago or Los Angeles, etc).
