George; I (and my 28ASR/32/33 etc) used to live in Frederick, and will be
returning to the area (actually Keyser WV) this summer or next.
Not sure who else was active with real tty in the area, but if no one else
raises their hand (there must be someone in the BalWash area, I will pitch
in on my return.  Tell him to keep it clean.

I just got off of the phone with Mr. John Fiery, the owner of a Model 28ASR 
which was a treasure of his grandfather, a former WU Teletype Repairman.

I shall not go into detail, but I am incredibly pleased and humbled by this 
young man, who has expressed a desire to actually make the machine he has 
work.

He stated that he has a 9 year old daughter who has the interest and ability

to comprehend and deal with technical subjects to which she has been 
introduced.

Mr. Fiery lives about twenty minutes from Frederick, Maryland, in a little 
town called Clear Spring.

Are there any GreenKeyers living in his part of the world who would be 
willing to take this pair of potential enthusiasts under their wing and 
mentor them into full-time, superbly familiarized (addicted to/with) the 
amazing science and black arts of teletype machine ownership and operation?

I am shipping a Flesher TU-170 so that he can connect his computer up so he 
can watch ITTY with it.

We do need more younger people interested in carrying on with the survival 
of these important relics of American Communications History, so why not 
join in and fuel the spark that we all have felt in our younger days?
