Disposable aluminum roasting pans are available in a wide range of
sizes. They're just heavy aluminum foil, but pre-formed in a press
which puts in reinforcement ridges. I've used those for de-greasing
and de-rusting.

With Evapo-Rust, metal that isn't submerged but is wetted with
the stuff will get rustier. At the air/liquid interface, it
induces rust. So you tend to need a lot of the stuff. I
had to go to two AutoZone outlets to buy enough quart bottles.

Another useful option is to put the item in a big plastic
bag, and block the bag so that it just fits the object.

Incidentally, the mounting bolts for a Teletype Model 15
bottom plate are 3/8" diameter, 28 TPI, 1 1/2" long. That's not a
standard bolt size, but you can get the threading die for that thread
("https://www.holesawsunlimited.com/product.php?productid=19862" is
one source; you may be able to find a better price) and cut one from
a longer bolt.
