Ah the memories ...
The shop I was doing the contract work for, converted to Remex punches. Remex
OEMed a punch mechanism from somewhere in Europe, then I think started to
make their own. You could hold the whole thing in one hand (not the
power supply, electronics, etc )
was very reliable and were about 1/10 the price. I don't think it even
had a motor.
Another memory .. you had to be very careful not to touch the punch block after
punching a long run with the Mylar-aluminum-Mylar, .. HOT, VERY HOT.
A pair of ear muffs would had been a good idea as well :-)
