Do you need the software for this in order for it to operate?  Nothing came with this one but the manual did.  Looks in good shape and it appears to be working as the lights + work when tuning in an RTTY signal.  Kind or reminds me of the other TU that had a similar display.

To bad there is no way to configure it as a repeater, you know, audio in and then back out like a regenerator.  Speaking of which i happen to ahve a TT-63 in the garage.  But that doesn't repeat tones does it?  I know nothing about it other than its a bit on the heavy side. 

If one doesn't have the program software for this, can or could you use a DOS terminal program?  Used to be one with Windows but don't know if it still exists or not.  I've got an old 10 mhz Sears PC that will do 9600 baud on the Com RS-232 line.  Just need some other software i guess.  Or maybe some sort of Modem software?  I've still got some of that around here.
