Kevin,

I will send you some images in the morning showing the proper
installation of the ribbon. Most Model 15s have a chart with an
illustration for loading the paper and ribbon on the underside of the
cover of the machine that flips up after you pull the glass towards
yourself.

The ribbon must have reversing eyelets about 8 inches from each end of
the ribbon.
They can be put into a ribbon that does not have any by using an
eyelet tool available anywhere that has a retail sewing section. WAL-
MART typically carries eyelets and the tool. Not much different than
putting snaps or grommets into material.

The bell may just be a lubrication issue. More tomorrow.. I have to
go to bed.

P.S. My grandfather Charles F. House, Capt. (SC) USN (Ret.) lived on
Walker St. in Lenox from 1946 until his death in 1972. He served the
town as a Selectman. I presume you are working on a production for
Tanglewood... a beautiful place.

Best regards,
Don

Hello all -

I have been pointed in the direction of this Mailing List.

I work for a theater company and have borrowed a teletype from the
Associated Press's World Headquarters in New York. I have been told
that it is an M-15 and I have a problem with the ribbons improperly
spooling and the bel is not ringing when it nears the the of the line.

From what I can tell the ribbon is supposed to spool from right to
left. Please correct me if I am wrong. The right spool cradle is
working properly. The left hand one however is not. The arm supporting
the cradle appears to be slightly bent not engaging the vertical worm
gear below the arm. I have found out that by pressing on that vertical
gear I change the engagement on the spool from left to right. Am I
missing something else?

Thanks for the help.
