Steve,
More great food torture for me!
Seriously, have enjoyed your travel updates. What a nice tour.
I have visited Jacks old QTH in Kinderhook, NY two times and always got a nice welcome. He had about 15 Teletype machines in that shack, all in nice condition. .
Keep driving carefully.

ell, we made it to KC, no thanks to the GPS trying to predictively guess where
was going. When it suggested 92nd Street I didn't look close enough to note
t should have 92nd Place. So we wound up on the south side of town when we
hould have been on the north side.
Anyway no harm done as we eventually did find our way to Jack's home (with his
elp of course via phone and 2 meter simplex). After getting a chance to visit
ack's fabulous shack and getting to know him and his lovely wife Sue, we got
he table for the Kleinschmidt gear I picked up in Lincoln loaded we said
arewell and invited them to visit us in Atlanta if they ever got down south
eorgia way. By the way, that invitation is open to all Greenkeyers.
We took Jack's advice on where to find some KC BBQ and had an excellent dinner
nd then found us a place to lay our heads for the night. And before I forget,
ast night we had dinner at the restaurant Ron suggested in Lincoln and had the
est Porterhouse steak that I have ever eaten. And Puddin's Filet was so tender
he was able to cut it with a fork. Thanks to Ron and Jack both for great
inner recommendations.
Tomorrow morning we will meet with Joe (Rokuman Cat) to drop off his M28 tape
rinter and M28 Standalone TD, then we start on the last real leg of our journey
eading towards Alabama for our last two stops (Selma & Huntsville) before
eading for home to Atlanta (Stone Mountain to be exact). And as an interesting
ide note the trip down I-55 from St. Louis to Memphis will take us right
hrough Blytheville, AR where I graduated from high school. There was a SAC Air
orce base there where my dad was station during my high school years.
The trip is winding down but we rolled the odometer past 3000 miles today and we
ill be pretty close if not over 4000 by the time we pull into our driveway.
Stay safe everyone!
