Hi Larry,
Could it have been to keep some nincompoop who had no business with the TTY and who might have just been passing by from yeilding to the temptation of pushing a key while there was traffic on a common loop? Just a thought.

Still working to understand the Model 35 I aquired.....why would the machine
have a "KB Unblind" function.
In other words....why would a KB be "blinded" in the first place? Seems to
me you just don't type if
you don't want the KB functional. What am I missing here? Printers were
blinded to prevent print
when they were on a "party line" until the unblind code was sent...that
makes sense.
