Try a set of MicroMesh (available from Aircraft Spruce and lots of other
places). You get a set of cloth backed sheets from 1500 grit to 12000 grit. It
is designed to polish aircraft windshields, which it does perfectly, and can
bring any metal or plastic surface back up to a very high polish with no other
compounds (including crazed plexiglass). At the high grits it is likely finer
than the polishes used on the molds which made the parts in the first place.
