GM OMs;
I'm working on a program that will convert METAR data into both weather
symbols and abbreviations-to-English text.
When done, I will make the program available to anyone who is
interested. All you'll need is a Linux box - or a MS box that has
a C compiler on it. And, of course, a way to send the ASCII file
to the ITA#2 machine.
It won't be of full use to glass machines unless you download a
weather font. One of the guys found one, and I've tested it - but
the characters don't look so hot.
If you have a weather machine, I'd like you to check something:
o What is in the FIGS position on your "A" key?
o Do you have a "DASH" in the FIGS postion on your BLANK key?
UE,
W6ESE - tony
