Hello fellow teletype enthusiasts.
I'm quite new and quite green to the field of teleprinters; though I do know
a little about them.
Hobby-wise, I find vintage technology to be quite interesting; my main
interest though focuses around vintage computers, specifically anything DEC.
(I'm trying to get my hands on a PDP-8/e; as well as any "blinkenlights"
PDP-11.) I'm also interested in getting my amateur radio license, which I'll
have to do when I get some time this summer.
Currently, I own a KSR-33 teletype (branded by Leigh) which I got for free
from my university. (And which I need to fix, because it is having some
"fun"
issues that I'm roughly completely clueless regarding.) I'm also in
negotiations for an ASR-33 teletype, but more on that in a later post...
Some info about me personally: I'm a 19-year old, Canadian. Currently
attending Brock University for a Bachelor's of Science (Chemistry); though
by September I hope to have completed a transfer from BSc (Chem) to the
(in?)famous "concurrent education" program (senior/intermediate sciences
specialization) here (it's a combined <insert degree here> plus Bachelor's
of Education program; basically a fast-track method of becoming a teacher).
Well, that's all I can think of to say in this introduction.
Cheers all!
C. M. Gauger-Cosgrove
