Well I think I found the "perfect" cleaner.
Gumout Carb cleaner. Just spray it on (outside only!), agitate, if 
needed, with a small brush then blow dry.
It washes away all the gunk, grease, oil and crud.
The front plate from the printer Jack sent me is close to squeaky clean now.
Wish I could find this stuff in a gallon can. Then I could use it in my 
paint sprayer.
