    I just buy new ribbons.  NuKote B76, about $10 each.  Amazon
has them.

    Also, if you're going through ribbons too fast, you can turn down the
typebar strike force on the typebar machines.  The stock setting seems
to be set for worst-case 4-part carbon paper, and is way too high.
