I just came across this handy tip in a model 32/33 manual, on the use of the tape punch 'backspace' button:

"The auxiliary drive bail can only add perforations in the tape, it cannot delete them."

In all the 'practices' documents that I've read, this is the closest thing that I've found to humour. I'm sure writing that sentence made some technical writer's day.
