Hi Greenkeyers:

There is a Teletype XD200AA/FR (Model 14 TD) for sale on Craigslist
in the SF Bay Area. I contacted the seller and made arrangements
to see it. I was surprised to see that what he has is a complete
Model 19 set. He explained that he knows nothing about the machine
(it came with the house) and the XD200AA/FR was the only number he
saw besides the Teletype name plate.

The machine is complete but it is dirty. It has black wrinkle paint.
I saw date codes on some of the capacitors on the base of 1943. Some
capacitors on the keyboard show a 1951 date. The typing unit frame
is made of cast iron. The keyboard has communications keytops but the
typing unit has a type basket with fractions. The type basket obviously
came from another machine. Both motors are of the synchronous variety.
The machine has some corrosion but it looks like it could be cleaned up.
There is a rectifier sitting on the back shelf of the machine. There
are no stray wires hanging out of the machine and no apparent changes,
modifications or parts robbing. The machine even has a paper crank
although the black plastic spinner is gone. The printer glass is missing.
When I removed the cover, it was obvious that some mice had made a home
in there at one time. This machine might be restored to working condition
or it could have a new life as a parts machine.

The seller is motivated to get the machine out. His name is Bob Caylor
and his phone number is 925-586-5269. His email is: bcaylor2 at yahoo.com

Regards, Jerry Murphy
