Sounds like a 4AG, older aircraft use them.  They are still available
through Cooper-Bussman and Littelfuse.  If you have a Hi-Line dealer nearby,
they usually stock them, as does Aircraft Spruce and Edmo.

Use the "filters" to find what you need (or what's available that's close
enough - 5/16 isn't very common).

And just about any miniature, etc. lamp you can think of ->

stuff - they'll tell you who stocks them - and for "truly rare" stuff - you
might sweet talk them into supplying a small quantity of "engineering
samples"...  ;>)
