Hi Jim,
Well on the 28 and KSR base I just finished, I used Gumout carb cleaner
in the spray can. It dissolves and washes away all the dried grease and
crud. I used a small brush where needed and then compressed air to dry
it. Worked good for me. Also used a sonic cleaner for some of the small
parts and bearings that had dried grease in them. I put Lysol 3-in-1
cleaner in the sonic unit and that did a good job. Rinsed in water dried
with air then repacked the bearings.
