Ladies & Gentlemen of the loop -
clatternet is a teletype net which has been on the air since the year
2000. clatternet has a very strong preference for mechanical
teleprinters but we tolerate MMTTY check-ins (as long as you set 'DIDDLE
NONE').
clatternet is always run at 60WPM with military tones - 850 shift on
USB with MARK LOW. Our mark frequency is 1575 Hz and our space
frequency is 2425 Hz. clatternet has always started at 0930 Pacific
time on Saturday.
Lately, clatternet is on 7087 kHz. That puts our mark frequency on
7,088,575 Hz and our space frequency on 7,089,425 Hz.
These tone frequencies were chosen to accommodate the maximum number
of military RTTY rigs. Military radios that are usable on clatternet
without modification include the GRC-106 & MD-522 combination, the
PRC-47 & CV-2455 combo, the TRC-75, the TSC-15, and the GRC-122/GRC-142
series. Of course a multitude of other commercial and military radios
are usable on clatternet along with an 850 shift TU like the Dovetron
and many others.
We would be pleased to have you join us Saturdays at 0930 Pacific
time on 7087 USB. With propagation changing for the better, we have
just moved up from 3580 kHz and hope to get out a little better and
become more than just a Pacific Northwest net.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the entire clattercrew!!
