[GreenKeys] Model 15 Noise Suppression

Hi All:

Just so people will understand.. I wouldn't bother
replacing the existing matting if it weren't in such bad
shape. Most has disintegrated and much of it has the top
layer of fabric dangling, threatening to coil itself on
moving parts, with the result that the machine if much
noisier than most Model 15's. Being in a museum
environment, one wants people to be able to talk near the
displays :-)

The adhesive sound deadening material looks good - wish I
could have found quilt similar to the original, but the
auto adhesive mat will work, and it will be a simple matter
to cut new sheets to replace the old disintagrating mat and
stick it on.

I have ordered enough to replace the old insulation, and
need to find rubber shock mounts for it. That should bring
it back to the original noise level of a normal Model 15.
It is simply a matter of missing insulation - the machine
with its cover off makes no more noise than other Model
15's make with the cover off - it is just that with the
missing insulation, the cover tends to magnify this sound,
so I want to replace the missing insulation...
