I can feel the ringing tones pulsing thru my bones!!!! YES!

When i went to work (transferred in) with Southwestern Bell out in Kansas back in 72 i was hired as a Lineman but since the foreman was a good friend of my granddad, i really went to work on a mobile roving splicing crew. The truck they gave me was some old 1950's era dodge that had been used to chase cattle across the prarie, for some reason!. I think the line truck we had was older than that, maybe even WWI era. Talk about having ufn setting poles etc. No post hole digger other than a couple strong bodies, jobbers and spoons and lots of sweat!
I was making $89 a week! When i finally got into Installation and repair i was eventually given a brand new Ford. One day while driving down the road, don't remember what the speed was, the front end on that started shaking so bad it was almost uncontrollable. Boss didn't believe me till i got him in it and we went for a ride. Boy, did he ever suck in his gut when it started rocking and rolling. Then one day shortly thereafter i was setting a pole out on a rural pole line when the pole got away from me and fell onto the door of the truck which was open. Not a good day. They really hollared and hooted when it told them what happened. Such was life in the country. Had a ball.

Dem was da days!
