Steve,
Someone on the list recently said that the Dovetron Tempest model used a
standard MIL-C-5015 connector (in continuous production since about 1942).
I've never seen a Dovetron of any flavor but I think the connector you are
referring to is not actually oval but rectangular with the short sides of the
rectangle cut back to a semi-cylinder. HP, FW Bell, and others once used
them on all of their test equipment. I don't have any extras but Ace
Electronics here in Houston had a stash last year when I needed one for a Bell
Gaussmeter. They aren't actually listed at www.ACE4PARTS.com but send an email to
Craig at sales at ace4parts.com and ask whether he still has some left. Ref
