[GreenKeys] Good TTY day

Hi again,

Today has been a good TTY day for me. First, I tested my KSR-15 (an old Western Union 'mailbox') and it worked perfectly. THANK YOU JACK! Next I looped my ASR-28 and got them both to talk to each other, both ways. That was neat! Then I ran a tape on the ASR28, and both Ttys printed perfect ally. I also tried out my new Naval patch panel, and it is excellent! It is so nice to have an mA meter so that I actually know how much current is running, so I won't worry about damaging the magnets in my machines.

I have not ran my little M-28 T/D too long yet, as I am awaiting the return of my bearing packer. (Get the hint, son-in-law. Return my tools!) Once I get those two rather dry bearings re-packed, I will feel more confident running it. That is a weekend project, that is retrieving my tools and repacking those bearings.

Once I get the little M-28 T/D working, I will start on the M-28 tape printer, and setting up an actual rack mount for the TTY control and converters things.  My goal is actually appearing to be coming to fruition.

I have noticed that one of the knurled screws that hold the M-15 printer to the keyboard frame is missing. Is this a serious issue? Are these available anywhere, or should I have one machined for me? Or can I just not worry about this?

Anyway, tomorrow, I will get the serial port driver installed for my old XP single purpose notebook, and start to use Heavy Metal. Hopefully, tomorrow night, I will be happily printing out the HM feeds.

Best,

Joe Herdler
