[GreenKeys] Model 15

Hi Keelan:

That pretty well describes the feeling...

My search for another Model 15 has lasted a good two years,
and sadly, as fas as I can tell, there are no more left on
the Island, in collections ot Ham hands. The same appears
to be true of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, as I have had
people on the lookout in both provinces, and ads in all
three provinces on Buy, Sell, and Trade...

So, when Bruce Rosen emailed me from Boston, and offered me
the machine I was ecstatic. Sadly, at first, it looked as
though I was going to have to turn it down... until I came
up with the idea of advertising my need to have an item
brought from Boston to PEI. Now, my main site is a
genealogy site, and many in the Boston area (in fact all of
New England) were descended from Islanders, so chances were
pretty good of finding someone from the area that was
planning a vacation here.

Before the night was up, I had ten offers from site users
to bring it! Paul MacKinnon was the closest to Bruce, and
was leaving at the best time, so he became IT! He arrived
on the Island last night, and is supposed to call me this
morning and make arrangements to drop by with it this
afternoon.

I spent last night printing out a full copy of a number of
Model 15 teletype documents, plus the full army TM11-2215
manual (all 9 files) on the TT-5/FG and TT-6/FG machines,
and this morning, will place them in binders.

About two weeks ago, I located a replacement blank key for
the missing one on the machine, and thankfully that is here
now, so with luck, and assuming the machine suffered no
damage on its trip here, I should have it operating
tonight. It was apparently working well before leaving,
other than a pesky spacing problem, so it shouldn't be too
bad a job. Then comes the usual cleaning, etc., sort of
putting the cart behind the horse, but I do want to see any
problems it may have before I get my hands into it.
Thankfully, Bruce lubed it up, though I don't know how
thoroughly.

Just like a kid on Christmas Eve!
