[GreenKeys] restoring the rubber pad on the print hammer ASR 33

Hi,
I am sure this has been brought up 1000 times on this list, but I thought I'd pass along my solution to the problem.

I bought a foot of 3/8" OD  1/4" ID plastic tubing from the hardware store and inserted over the print hammer head (with the old rubber pad removed).  Seems to work great...any comments?  Anyone done this see any long-term damage?

BTW - My TT works nicely with my SWTPc 6800, I can use as a terminal, punch tapes, read them back into memory.  Thanks to everyone here especially Wayne (teletypeparts) on this list

The original computer I was working with, the PDP 11/05 is not quite communicating correctly.  But I will get it!
