Often, "private line model" is used to refer to connection to a computer, but it really means 60 MA two wire. The 33 can be easily strapped for the two different versions. Just a couple of things to change. The quick check is 2 or 4 wires hanging out the back. .

I'm curious: did the private line model use electronic line current
ensors, or where there polar relays in them? I trained on Model 32/33
n 1976, but the class just barely covered the electronics: I remember
here was a transistorized driver for the selector magnet, which took
everal hundred milliamps, but that's all they taught us.
I know they could be strapped for 20 ma current loop, and probably for
0 ma (they say the memory is the second thing to go), but I never
orked on a machine that was actually in use for private line: ours had
0 ma <> RS-232 converters on them, and they were attached to DEC computers.
